I'm running Pirelli Diablo Strada's as well and can't fault them at all. Only done 600 miles on them so far.

erm, it seems i got the mileage wrong....they've already done 6000 miles and will prolly do about 6500 miles by the time I replace them.

tried to get good pix but my iPhone camera sucks donkey balls.

Yeah, I'm a fan of the Diablo Strada's too.

Just swapped mine for BT016's as I wanted something a bit stickier for trackdays / summer. The rear had done 4,500 miles and had at least another 1,000 miles left. The front had done 3,000 miles and only looks about a third worn. I've slung the rear as it had 2 puncture repairs in it but I've kept the front. I'll put the front back on with a new Strada rear come winter time.

BTW, there was a test in Bike magazine last month on Sports Touring tyres (using a Triumph Sprint ST). It seemed to be from a sporty perspective. The Diablo Strada came out joing top with the new Dunlop Roadsmart.

I found the OE Dunlops to be slow to warmup (3+ miles) and very slippery below 50-60F. By the 3rd 60+ mph front end slide I had totally lost confidence in them. The rear was ok, but pretty easy to slide on corner exit. Fortunately they were dead at 2500 miles and I replaced them with Michelin Pilot Road 2s. I have about 1500 miles on these and they still look very good. They warm up fast (1 mile) and are grippy down to 45F. No front slides to date, rear slide on exit requires more throttle than for the OE Dunlops, good confidence as indicated by full use of the tyre.

Although billed as a "sport-touring" tyre I find them more than grippy enough for road work though they may not be adequate for the track. My previous experience with Pilot Sports and Pilot Roads is similar, with life of 3500-4000 miles, wearing out the front and rear at the same time. One negative is that Michelin seems to use a very light carcass and when the tread gets low the tyres are susceptible to rock bruises/punctures.

OK, final update;

Just took it off so its ready to take to the tyre place tomorrow first thing...thought I'd take a pic or two to show you what a 7000 mile Diablo Strada looks like.

Bit shagged in the middle I think you'll agree!
