Hi,

I went today to make some adjustment to my SD 07 suspension and couldn't move the rebound adjuster screw on the bottom of the shock - either way the thing is stuck solid. Did anyone have this problem?? any ideas?? I have bought the bike 6 weeks ago and it has been with the dealer for over half the time with faulty instrument and now this!

Never heard of this problem before, but don,t be affraid to apply plenty of preasure, you have nothing to lose. If you take it to the dealers they will keep it while they try to free it off, if you break it off trying, then it's a replacement shock which will be an easier job for them and a new shock for you

Thanks Dr.
This bike was a part of the ''ktm experience'' bikes that were taken around the coutry for test rides on track. I bought it cause the price was too good and it looks and feels bran new. NOw the instrument is turned out faulty, i don't know how they made me sign that they adjusted the rebound of the shock if the thing does not move at all - this is just weeks after I bought it from them and I only rode it 4 times! I wend to do the adjusments cause the bike felt so stiff on the rear especially - maybe that is why...

The rebound screw is easily broken as it has a large taper in the middle of the screw. Once it gets corroded and hard to turn, it can break. There is a small rubber plug at the bottom of the shock (right under the rebound screw hole) that water can get into and corrode the screw. The screw is not bathed in oil. I spray some lubricant in mine to prevent this as it has been a problem on the offroad bikes with the PDS system. The adjuster can be replaced without replacing the shock if you can manage to carefully remove the screw. You should have no issues at all getting this covered under warranty assuming your dealer is not an idiot.

By the way, please do not attempt to remove the screw as there is 150PSI of pressure on the rebound needle. Leave this up to a qualified shop.
