Safety Recall - Front brake pads replacement

Got a letter from KTM today stating

"KTM has received information from our supplier regarding possible problems with a limited production batch of front brake pads produced and subsequently fitted to some KTM Super Dukes that were manufactured within a known production period. Our concern is that these pads may become subject to corrosion affecting the adhesion of the friction material to the backing plate and therefore need to be exchanged at the earliest opportunity"

It then urges you to contact your dealer to arrange for them to be replaced
Baggieman, what model do you have?

I thought this was an 07 model problem?

KTMmax?
I have a June 2006 model and the letter heading lists the VIN and then :

MODEL 990 SUPERDUKE TITANIUM 2006

I can only imagine that Titanium ones are being recalled first as the brakes are more critical due to their increased speed
Got mine this morning as well....Titanium too!
BBWWWHHHAAAAA ....... funniest shit ive heard that

Not the brake problem, but the alledged warp speed capabilities of the dishwater grey version
Hope I get one, could do with getting the pads replaced anyway!
Just checked the bottom of the letter, it is speed related as it states that Black Super Duke owners will receive their letters in September.

Got a letter, even having a black SD (2006).
Brakepad manufacturer Hawk fooked up and now there's a chance that the friction material detaches from the steel back plate.
Nice, my dealer is 130 km away. Costs me half a day.
I hope they put the pads in an envelope and sent them to me.

CU,

Marcel.
Despite what the letter says, my dealer didn't have a clue what I was talking about when I phoned them to get the SD booked in.
