Im going to tune my dear SD for the next summer a little, and I have planned on sitting it on a Dyno and giving it new fuel map with the famous TuneECU/Tuneboy. I have the Remus Hexagon cans on, so i guess the Akra-maps will work? I already have the Akra-map in the ECU, but would like to have some more mid-torque.
The question is, should I do some other modifications. I have been plannig on installing a new airfilter with better airflow. Do you thin it is necessary and what filter do you recommend?
And what is the SAS system? Do I need it and if i remove it, does it increase any power/torque? My local KTM dealer sells the KTM:s own SAS removal kit for 40 euro...
Thanks for answers and sorry, if Im asking all the same questions that has already been asked. Just shoot me if its necessary.
PS. Its so cold in Finland...

use Tuneecu to load another map to boost midange, the akra map is waaaay too rich. If you just run the other cans use guys map out of the how to download section. just tick the second butterflies back on before you load the map as I had it switched off as I took the 2nd butterflies out.
This map will greatly boost power and torque compared to the standard and akra maps, it also has the 2-3 rd gear limiter disabled and sas switched off.
If you like it you can fit the SAS removal kit if you want to get rid of the tubing etc.
Save your map before uploading the new one so you can revert back if you want.

Best option (but most expensive) is a .
Another option is a BMC or DNA filter. I've got the DNA one and I'm very happy with it.

So, I install the DNA filter, cos I has no money for the Motohooligan. I adjust the map with the TuneECU in the Dyno, because our main tecnician is very interested in learning the new software.
If I just turn the SAS off, does the hoes and other stuff make any difference wether I remove them or not?
I will also try the Guys map, I've read alot of good things of it.
And sorry for this, but could someone explain the thing about the butterflys once more, in children-style?

When you use Guys map load it in TuneECU but before you send the map to the bike enable 2nd throttle.
So step by step.
Connect to your bike with TuneECU.
Read the current map from your bike.
Save it somewhere on you PC (something like My_original_map)
Load Guys map in TuneECU
Enable 2nd throttle by clicking the checkbox.
Send Guys map to your bike

It's great how users response in this forum, no other like this. I guess im going to order just a new filter,DNA or BMC (dont now which are better available in Finland) and hit the Guys map in... And there is still the possibility, that our mechanic gets excited with the Dyno and makes a custom map for my bike...
Then again... I made the mistake of checking the motohooligan kit... And my birthday is coming, so if I do the dishes and laundry for two months I may be brave enough to ask my girlfriend to get it to me as a birthday present

This will solve the issue as it will work on all bikes second butterflies removed or not.

SD and SDR have a different engine. Looks the same but different cams etc.
I believe James (MrZ32) did a good map for the SDR with Otto's ignition curve and shades fuel map.
Send him a pm to ask which one it is .
