SDR tail section lever...?

WTF is that lever under/inside the tail section? It looks like it releases the rear tail section but I'm buggered if I can get it off.

Also, my rear number plate hanger is removed (previous owner fitted his own hanger) and I wanna refit it but there appears to be a cable missing for the indicators....has anyone got a workshop manual or parts manual for the SDR?

(if there's one on here I havent found it....this could be me being really freakin dense)

I tried lifting it as described...but no movement. I noticed the hooks on the front parts of the section too....but the rear wouldnt let go. Maybe it needs some sort of knack....but I was surprised to see it wasnt in the handboook!!

Will hopefully be swinging by Brackens later so will ask them too while I'm there.

nice and easy to pop out on mine.... pull lever, then tail is free to release. Straight up, no wiggling, don't need to worry about the hooks at the front until after the back is clear...

maybe your catch is seized or a bolt has vibrated loose somewhere, preventing the catch from releasing??
