I have this issue with carbon seat cowl.
To open I kinda pull and lift at the same time right on the back of the carbon cowl by the rear light.
To shut I push down on the carbon cowl between the key hole and the rear light.
Hope that makes sense there is a knack to it with the cowl fitted.
