Hi Everyone

Been doing a bit a research regards the LC8 engine and the complaints of snatch / surging and came across this -

Basically it is talking about removing the secondary butterflies which removes the snatch and surge and that they are only there for noise / emissions purposes etc.

I am aware that some of you will have more knowledge that me on the issue thus your opinions are valued.

Take your time and try and decipher the Google translation.

Maybe onto something - maybe not?

Thanks

Do NOT remove the secondary butterflies.

If you do, you will experience a momentary lean at WOT settings below what ever rpm the butterflies are partially open. Additionally, you will loose some top end power; the presence of the butterflies in the intake flow creates turbulence which actually enhances intake volume and intake power.

We need to find out how the plates operate: what rpm do they open. These plates are solely performance and noise controllers. A more productive experiement would be to try plates of different smaller diameters and find out which ones deliver better power; it will also give better throttle response. This may be the last area in which mproved performance may be realised from the current LC8 motor.

Thanks Zen it is good we have people like you and others to keep us right in these times of surfing the net and getting led astray, however did you read the forum and did you take in what they where saying, they say it is job done if you do away with them; me I am in no position to comment, thus why I subjected it to the the likes of you who are better informed than me.

Thanks
