Shall I disconnect the SAS?

No advantage to performance.
Weight gain will be improved more if you take a wee before every ride.
Do it if you feel like playing with your bike.

SAS just dumps filtered air from your airbox, into your exhaust runner in the heads just before each header. It helps burn excess fuel and tries to make the bike run cleaner - saving the earth. Nothing more.

But it also kills the backfiring....losing that is a very bad thing in my books, I LOVE it!!!!!

I have full Akra EVO, DNA, and a custom map which was leaving my bike barking like an angry dog.
It was really bad actually, before the custom map, it always had a crackle - pop with a stock map but not so bad.
After the custom map it became more like a sonic bomb sound after any deceleration and it didn't make it sound better
but rather "whats wrong with that bike" sound.

So I just removed my entire SAS system over the weekend and all of the sonic boom is gone,
which is comforting to my neighbors and the cars I over come.

A buddy made mine for me, I dont have the part # , but it is a very easy part to manufactuer yourself, 1/8th aluminium stock. I used a thin layer of high temp. silicone to seal them, there is a rubber D-ring that is underneath it for proper sealing. If you need any help making your own and want some pointers? just let me know?
