I have had the same problem, to an extent. As you can see from previous posts, as well as cutting out in traffic I also have the problem of it not wanting to rev above 4k but it only did it intermittantly.

I took it into the dealer at the end of last year and although it was with them for 3 or 4 week it never did it (don't really know how much they ran it tho) so as it wouldn't reproduce it, I got it back, they did replace the fuel pump as a precaution but a few days after I got it back it started all over again.

I took it in again 2 weeks ago and eventually after running around on it and having it on the rolling road it eventually reproduced the fault. That in itself was a relief becasue you alwyas get the impression they think you're making it up until it actually does it with them.

They are now in the process of checking a few things out (they suspect the alarm/immobilisor) but of course they have to run it again and hope it will/will not do it again ! Basically for an intermittant fault you have to be patient and be without your bike for a while while the dealer can reproduce the fault and then fix it. Unfortunately the weather up here recently has been crap so they can't run it on the road as much as they want to, but I'm hoping they will fix it and I'll get it back next week.

That will be the best part of 7 weeks off the road, if the weather hadn't been so bad as it has I'd be well pi55ed off !

Dutch, I would personally go the dealer route, reason being.... the last time your in thare to correct the problem, this leaves a paper trail,

for you to fall back on if the problem persists. KTM updates their maps, I hope? It is not like this is a new problem for them.

I think the dealer mentality is.....When in doubt,,, fake it... or act dumb, like it has never been noted before.

This is the way things were handled at the auto dealers I have worked for in the past.

As you duly noted you have read the threads, I am sure you had seen my lunacy in thare. My local dealer does not have the ktm special tool.

They also have no intention of getting it, and cannot be held legally accountable by the ktm to have it.... I know the $300.00 is alot of money !!

to save a life or 2
