The pictures I've seen of the "decatted" stock cans are all horrid. You'll never get the welds clean. There are plenty of other options, a guy on here has mounted a set of late model R1 cans......the cheap possibilities are endless, but hacking the stock echaust always looks shitty. Unless of course you can tig weld like an akrapovic employee. And it's not really about the welds it's about what and how you use whatever to cut them open. The sound isn't all the much louder, nor is the power increased. This has also been documented in numerous threads, and if you go this route, remember if you fook up, then your bike is out of commission as you just destroyed your stock exhaust. If you were to go this route, buy a used stock exhaust and hack away at that. Just me 2 cents.
