It’s very strange how something’s effort the overall “State of Tune” of my bike for not apparent reason. Case in point; My bike wasn’t running very well, sure it was fast, had good power and all but the on-off transition of the throttle and general smoothness was very low. I did everything I could to cure this issue but to no avail. Than one day I discovered a small coolant leak around the case cover the water pump housing bolts on too. I ordered a complete water pump rebuild kit from KTM TWINS website and after I got the kit I took my bike to my favorite KTM dealer for repairs. It took him maybe 2 hours to overhaul the water pump while I waited across the street to test ride a BMW S1000RR (both shops owned by the same person so no worries). After I got the bike back I really could not believe how smooth the bike felt. All I was thinking was WTF! How and why does a new water pumps affect the overall State of Tune of my bike. Anyway, thought I would pass-on this little story. I’d like to read other stories about how changes you made to your bike enhanced your bike overall State of Tune for no apparent reason.
