Strange leak

OK guys, new to the forum so help me out. Tried searching for this problem but there are honestly too many threads and I'm not even sure what the specific problem is. My bike is a 2007 with a little over 9000 miles on it. I'm the 3rd owner and the past 2 owners have done small work to the bike (FMF slip-ons, evap can removed, bit of bling, etc). It has been dropped once but I was told it was at low speed in a parking lot (frame and axle sliders did there job, no damage to the bike was done that I can tell). Since the summer has started up again I've been getting weird leaks. I'll ride around with zero problems, park the bike, come back the next day to a small puddle under the bike. It looks/feels/smells like fuel, although rarely it will have a bit of oil in it as well as small black crumbs (charcoal?). I'm pretty certain they are coming from a series of tubes that lead to nowhere and just dangle off the bottom of the bike around the engine. Don't think this is normal, as my old KTM 640 never did this. I still have the evap canister, so would reinstalling it fix the problem? The leaks have gotten worse as the temperature has risen, so that makes me think it is evap related. Or is it something bigger? Any help would be appreciated.

I would check your coolant expansion bottle first - as you may find casting sand in the bottom of it, also check your radiator cap as the sand can collect here as well.

What then happens the whole cooling system over pressurises, as the expansion bottle is partially blocked, until enough pressure builds and unblocks the obstruction and blows the coolant out of the overflow.

You then end up with a small pool of coolant under the bike, the black stuff could be the casting sand.

Correct and ideally run a hose to thoroughly flush the system through. The only problem is the stupid bleed procedure of raising the front wheel; apart from that pretty straight forward.

Where are you based? If it's the US it might be from the canister that collects fuel vapour under the seat. This may well be filled with charcoal. This is a guess of course as we don't have them here in the UK.

Coolant is good, radiator is good, oil is good, brake and clutch reservoirs are good. Took the bike out for a good ride with my buddy on his Honda 919. Bike rode great and pulled strong, even in 90+F weather. Pulled into a station for fuel and in the short time it took for me to open the fuel cap and begin pumping fuel into the tank, a nice puddle had already formed at the bottom of the bike. Got off and saw it was dripping out of one of two thin black hoses hanging from the bottom of the engine right where the oil drain plug is at (the one facing directly to the ground). These are some of the hoses that dead end for no apparent reason. I traced the hose back up and it goes up the kick-stand side and then disappears back in-board up around the fuel tank. The liquid that drips from the hose is clear and thin. I would say fuel or some emmision crap that the evap can that was removed would otherwise catch. It is a US reg bike and pulls fine all the way up to redline, but for some reason it now leaks this fluid when things get hot. Note that it is not a steady leak, when I rode to my buddy's house nothing came out. Only after riding for a while or riding hard does the bike drip out fluid, then it settles down once it cools off. Something else to note that I forgot to put in the first post is that I was gone for the weekend and didn't ride the bike since Friday morning. Came back to it Tuesday afternoon to a puddle, even though it hadn't been touched. I took some pictures of the hose and wish I knew how to post them online, this electrician isn't very computer savvy

Probably fuel from the tank vent or overflow tube.Check that the lines to the fuel tank are not pinched. also check to see if the PO removed the canister from under the seat and did something different with the vent and overflow lines. Hope this helps
