So, after ten weeks on backorder, my SD R seat kit has finaly arrived! In case you have been on the Moon, or trapped under something heavy for the last few months, this kit alows you to retro fit the SD R seat unit to the '05/'06 Superduke. There is also a kit to fit the '07 with a different part number. The cost is £406 inc vat, unless you have a friendly dealer like me, who gives a 10% discount, which makes it a little more easy to digest. Especialy in the light that the seat unit comes unpainted. It's supplied in a flat black bare plastic, which would have been ok, had they not finnished it ready to paint, ie, with polish marks in it where they've flatted it off. Gonna speak to a painter mate of mine about painting it satin black, but will probably run it as is, until winter. So it's off to the garage for the rest of the evening, there are over 40 parts apparently, so I guess it won't be a ten minute job!

can't wait for the pics dr.f

really curious to know 2 things.
1) does it look as good on an 06 as i think it will?
2) how comfy is the seat?
1. Front support bracket with plastic cushions and bolts with washers underneath

2. Sliding bolts for the tailpiece to sit and secure on the lock

3. Release Lever for the lock tail mechanism

4. REar Support bracket with plastic cushions bolts some spacers underneath where they support the undertray also and the lock mechanism....

I guess it will be the same so good luck

If you fit the undertray and assemble the tailpiece with the rear light, then it is easy, hope the photos help

The deed is done! Sorted the alarm mount, just machined some spacers to fit it in the same position as before with enough clearance for the seat release lever. I've left the PC in there for now, but may move that to the mask at a later date. I know Richard won't like it, but I love it, you get the SD R look without the go-slow-dayglo on the frame

Congrates Dr.
Fantastic ... now I am quite jealous.
I ordered a kit 6 months ago and they are still telling me September.
Oh well at least I know the wait will be worth it.
I dropped my toy a couple of weeks ago now she is getting fixed.
and some more carbon, just a ashame that the R seat won't be fitted at the same time.
Well done sir.

I don't know about the SD R subframe, but this kit uses the standard subframe already on the bike. If I had to guess, I would say they are the same anyway.
Say SD Freaks All,
Sure is funny reading all these different views, looks like a fight between orange or black? Mine is orange and I like it. I watched a show called modern
marvels they had this monster generator that was bright orange and they nick named it the thunder pumpkin, Hmmm, I think the name is fitting, normally I dont name my bikes but this one is special, Ill have to change it from tool to thunder pumpkin whata you all say? and oh Ive ordered the tail, dont know what Ill do with the color, and the stuff about hp from the seat-- I believe it.

That's one special looking SD F.

As a small detail, I would fit 07 mirrors. Inexpensive, much better working and their more angular shape fits the design of the bike a lot better!
