Swingarm conversion

Is there anyone else out there that thinks one of the very few things that lets the SD down is the swingarm, like its just be ripped off a dirtbike? With the way all new bikes are coming out with some pretty exotic designs, KTM don't seem to be in any hurry to stay with the times. So I was wondering if anyone had considered a swingarm transplant on their SD?

Isn't the fact it's off an MX bike all part of it's appeal though ?

It's roughness, it's agression and it's closeness to a big dirt bike is what makes it the bike i want to ride.

yeah I guess, each to their own but that is what the 990 Supermotard is to me. The SD is more of a streetfighter so the fatter and tougher the better

Hhhhmmmmm..... will have to call by the local Ducati dealer in the next few weeks and have a look at one. I'm not a big fan of altering geometry, KTM spent millions in R&D, so I doubt changing the arm will make it better. The numptystrada is the closest I've seen to fitting so it's worth a look. The pivot points on the SD swingarm are very narrow, so I would be suprised to find something else that will fit, but I won't write the idea off until I've seen one close up.

Yep-actually owned one for a year. No real problems either-as long as you don`t expect it to handle like a proper sportsbike. Loses its way on track and when really pushing it on road as the suspension is budget stuff but otherwise pretty good.Better than a Monster s4 anyway. The engine is excellent. Not sharp enough for me but I enjoyed it--there`s lots worse naked bikes out there. For me it comes third in class behind the SD and Tuono.
