Hi i,m a tad worried i,ve just started tinkering with my 05 sd and i,m fitting the rear tail tidy.. Because i,m changing the wiring slightly i;ve paid it more attention and its very very tatty. Just zip tied together and slung into the bottom of the tray under the seat...
Also the wiring around the battery is tatty and the battery cover is very hard to remove due to the wires zip tied together in front of the cover i wondered if this is normal..
I,m used to superbikes where all the wires are nicely tucked away..
Dude......it's a Super Duke ! I know it's hard to believe, but ya can't have everything, ride, fit finish, performance, somewhere you have to make these little sacrifices....lol. If it's any interest to ya, Ducati now use freekin zip ties instead of those semi pesky rubber straps.I was disappointed to see that in the Italian's.
I think this is fallout from KTM's dirtbike heritage.

Look at any dirt bike & most of the wiring is zip tied to the frame or bits of plastic bodywork - so to KTM this seems a natural way of doing things & not because they are trying to cut corners.

If you own/use a dirtbike then zip ties make a lot of sense...
