Would you get bimettalic corrosion between aluminium and titanium though?

I may well machine them up in ally, at least I could get me cans on and unlease the motor's full potential.

aluminium melts at about 650 degrees C. Before it melts the mechanical properties start getting bad. I think aluminium is not an option. Go for stainless.

Good Luck,

Marcel.

I would not use aluminium at that point in the exhaust system. You will change the temper of it with the extreme temperature changes. It will become soft. I know they make aluminium cans, but I'm fairly certain there is shielding used in the cans to keep the main heat off walls.

I have worked at Alcoa for 18 years so I have some experience with aluminium - or aluminium as the rest of the world calls it

Whats the end cap (hot end) of the cans made from? I made new end caps for my cans out of aluminium. I really doubt you would have problems with 6061 T6 Al if you did machine it from that... Yoshi can all have aluminium end caps.
