Temperature Switch

I have been looking into using a temperature switch that works at a lower switching temperature than the standard switch, which I beleive to be set at 102 degrees C.
One of the options is to use a SUZUKI 1768050F00 unit that is used on a Suzuki Alto Mk3. It has a thread of M18x 1.5 (which I beleive is what is used on the Superduke) and an oparating temp of 90-90 degrees.
The connector is as follows (again I need to check in detail whether this is the same connector).

The question I have is wheether anyone on here has tried one of these, and if so whether it was successful in lowering the temperatue to switch on the fan.
Thanks in advance

Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere.

Good idea! I looked in it before but couldn't find one in NZ that fitted and since it's never that hot there I gave up.
Now that I moved to OZ I was going to look in to it again.
The tread is the most important thing as the wire on the SD just has 2 connectors on it, that can be easily changed.
It is not the same plug, connector btw.

Tip: If you want to try the switch, tilt the bike over a bit more to the left. Get a friend to help or suspend from strap. This will prevent getting much air in to the system as we all know the SD cooling system is an (#&@^!(^# to bleed.

Hi, Not sure why you think it is the wrong connector on the unit. I checked this morning and it looks identical.
I noticed KTM twins have them on back order....problem is the cost for postage and customes. Easier for me to purchase the Suzuki unit which is about £15 with postage.....

I beleive the thread is M18 x 1.5
I have notice people saying it is M19 but tha would be a really strange size to use.

Sorry to drag up an old(ish) thread but just want to pick some brains

The SD has 2 temp sensors, the 1 on the right side of the rad and also the 1 on the left side of the engine block, does anybody no which 1 sends the reading to the the temperature display?

My clocks will only show up to 4 bars on the display (05 SD) but TuneECU shows the temps to be up to 100Deg and the fan still works as it should!? without me trawling through the wiring diagrams which temp sender is it

Cheers Guys
