When you installed the grips how did you do it ? Praps if they were really tight and you "screwed" them on and the throttle was hard against the stop a possiblity of stretching the cable ?
that' s what i was thinking, i adjusted the free play in the cable however. Could it still be the cable that's the problem ?
I would think if you have adjusted the free play it would be ok........... but ?
ya it should be okay ...but ya i know what you mean? Its gotta have something to do with the grip change, i will go back to thicker stock grips just to see i guess!! Thanks
smaller diameter handle means less distance to move, yeah? so for the same amout of movement in throttle as before you'll get a bigger opening of the throttle now, yeah....?

btw, how did you adjust out the play in the throttle cable? I fancy doing mine a teeny bit but am nervous of messing with the throttle. I opened it up and didnt see anything obvious to adjust so just closed it up again....or am i looking at the wrong end of the throttle cable?

Adjusting play in throttle cable for the throttle cam is done on the cable adjusters just past the throttle housing. It takes 5 minutes and one wrench, see manual for throttle play adjustment, it's no big deal to do.
