Too much oil?

My manual ('05) says it should take 3 liters total and there is only 300ml difference between Min & Max in the sight tube. Not a lot of margin for error.

I'm told that running the oil too high is almost as bad as running it too low (not sure why). Maybe open the filler cap and draw some out with a big syringe or a small siphon tube.

Yep, I think I will try that. I've just noticed that it has covered my left boot with a fine mist of oil as well
