Just had to replace TPS for first time - for others future reference, symptoms were initially high tickover at cold start (cured by off/on two or three times), then plus engine cutting out/in for first half mile or so, then plus engine dying at rapidly closed/blipped throttle particularly in heavy traffic/hot engine and finally plus refusing to restart after stall without opening throttle to 50-75% but even then ran very roughly and stalled on closed throttle - all developed over circa one week's daily use and initially thought that early symptoms just needed TPS adjustment and 15 min reset, and latter symptoms were due to failing fuel pump - just needed new TPS.

Comrade No47: Thanks for that info. It's on a 2008 BattleDuke isn't it? So seven years regular use.

No, replaced complete TB @ circa 50k miles, now @ circa 90k miles so circa 45 miles and circa three years of continuous use for each.

90k on an SDR! That is incredible. A lot of modern cars struggle to get there, let alone a fire breathing v-twin.

I think you should throw a party when you reach a ton.

Closer to 95K if race miles included but it's not exactly original bike, more like Trigger's broom

hahaha, 2 new engines, 1 new frame, 3 swing arms, 2 headlight units, 1 new fork and rear shock, several seats and a new gearbox?

Anything on there that's from the original?

All original..................except sub-frame, bars, front forks, rear shock, engine,TB, airbox, radiator, belly pan, ECU, wiring loom, Akra pipes and silencers, consumables and innumerable odds and sods.

Well, then, it's practically the exact same bike.

Original soul, though - " the human body replaces itself with a largely new set of cells every seven years to 10 years, and some of our most important parts are revamped even more rapidly" (allegedly).

I'm not the same person I used to be.

Got my sums wrong - 90k road miles plus race miles as of today.
