Hi All.
Has anyone ever had any positive results with any of the so called tyre/puncture protection systems??? or any of the other puncture fixing kits out there.
As I planned on doing some off the beaten track riding this last summer I filled my tyres with one of the liquid 'Stop punctures before they stop you' additives just in case.
I'd been warned that some of the green ones weren't too effective, and even seen first hand when a friend got a puncture and all that happened was green goo came spewing out of the very small hole but did not seal it, so I shelled out for some of the more expensive American 'Ride-On' stuff.
Well about a couple of weeks back I picked up a thin roofing nail, probably from beside a skip I rode past as I was setting off where some houses were being re-roofed.
Anyway long story short, 40 miles from home my rear tyre went down, so this stuff was no more effective than the green goo!!! I rang the company to ask why it hadn't worked, after all their BS trumpeting on about it, and they asked for a photo of the hole to see it's position, near the centre, which apparently should be within the 'Ride-On' coverage area! Now they won't even respond to my emails.
I'm not impressed! their customer service is about as good as their product.
Are they all a waste of time???
