So I've searched online at several tuning places (PCIII, TuneECU, etc) and basically nobody makes an aftermarket US map that would be compatible for my bike. All the maps specify themselves as Euro specific. Could I just remove my evap canister and upload a Euro map onto my SD? From what I understand thats the only real difference between the UK and US SD's. Any help on this?

#2The Evap system is a fuel recovery system and would have no effect on the tune on the ECU. Grendel doubts there is any difference from a tune perspective between US and Euro models.

#3When loading a different mapping in the ECU itself this should be the same as with european models.
With a PC or RB however there is a difference because those devices only strengthen or weaken the output signal from the ECU before it gets to the injectors. If this ECU output signal is different (US vs EU) this would mean the pre-loaded mapping has a different effect. When tuning on the dyno however this shouldn't matter of course.

#4^Good point, so a PCIII is completely off the table as I may as well just load a random map in there while I'm at it.
I was under the impression that TuneECU does a complete remap of the stock ECU, not just a piggy-back, in which case I could use it and load a Euro map on there. Correct?

#5Loaded the standard US open pipe map on my bike bamm fi light. Then we noticed the standard map was the EU version so we loaded the EU open pipe and No fi light. Perhaps EU ecus prefer the UR map? IDK the bike fooking rips and sounds great.

#6I've been running this map; '08 akra map with klinks pc111 map.hex (so Akra slip, Motobox, Hooligan SBV)' (that's on the TuneECU) page for about 1500 miles with no issues at all...it has 'EU' in the name but it seems to work just fine on my US bike.

#10I am going thru this a little right now.I have an 08 with the same mods you have.If you find a tune ecu map you like please let me know I will do same.
My dealer remapped my bike at the 600 mile service. They did something wrong it has less power know than before.
I am taking it to a shop that knows dukes when I am on vacation.I spoke to them they said they can fix my problem.
He also said maps are EU,US or FR and some are not avaible because of smog laws.He also said they changed something in the 08 ecu that is differant than the 07 . I will have it all sorted out next week. This guy has all the maps even the ones you can't get anymore.
He saved them.I can't wait to get my duke running the way it should run.I'll let you know how it goes.

#11I've been playing with a couple of the maps both on the street and at the track.
So far, my favorite is the one from the Tune ECU web site: KM611EU0704530MapEVO4.hex
My next favorite would be the KTM Akropovic map.
I have on 07 that is stock except for the Akropovic cans, and this tune seems to work very well for it.
