US SuperDuke Owners Gearing Question

I thought I would order a -1 (16T) down front sprocket for my SD before my buddie and I went to Arkansas to ride corners. Of course KTM was out of them and back ordered. So I spent a afternoon calling KTM suppliers trying to find one. I finally found one and had it sent two day ground in hopes of getting it before I went on my trip. Well, It didn't come in time but was at my house when I got back. Cool...
I go out this evening to replace the stock 17Tooth front and come to find out it's a 16Tooth already. WTF? The book and all the spec's I find show the bike to have a stock 17Tooth front. Is this a US thing or what? Has anyone else ran into this same situation?
What year is your bike? I'm pretty sure the 06 comes with 16t and 07 with 17t. If you have an 07 are you the first owner? Other than that I have no idea.
