Something you cannot measure on the dyno when switching the exhaust out is the weight difference between the stock and the aftermarket pipes. If you are racing the SD, go with a lower cost slip on pipe which will "help" the HP numbers on the dyno but you save about 10 or more pounds of weight. About 7 pounds equals 1hp so if you can save 14 pounds you will gain about 2hp that you cannot measure on the dyno... not to mention the handling gains you will get from the lighter bike

Something to think about

I am looking to change out the can, want something that is not loud but better than the stock can as it's too quiet. I have a Leo Vince on my Concours w/baffle and would like something similar. What would you guys recommend?
The cat is what makes the bike so quiet. You can get a new mid pipe and keep the stock can if you want and it'll be noticeably louder.

Quite a few people have replaced the can and kept the cat only to have it pretty much sound the same as stock.
