I did a lot of research before choosing this one. In my opinion it's the best on the market. But it is not the cheapest by any means.
I love mine and it's been faultless since fitting it.

do I need a PC III to use the HM or does the HM kit have everything I need?

They do 2 versions, 1 specifically for the PC3 and the other 1 that comes with the full loom to fit straight onto the connectors that go to the spark plug caps!

Unfortunatly the non-PC3 version is £100 more expensive but its also the 1 that HM recommend as the best fit/function

1 day il have the spare $$$$$$

Ash is right. There are two versions. I have the PC111 fitted but went for the more expensive direct version because HM said that in their experience it was a much smoother and reliable method of cutting the ignition. Also means that if for any reason the PC breaks the shifter works. It's completely separate from the PC loom.

yes, same as bic i have the plus KTM model... stand alone... although its more to do with the fact that i am against piggy back ecu operations.

the plus model is not a piggy back but a direct plug in for the coils... and the hm computer runs off the power that goes to the coils too... so no need to hook up an alternate power source either

Another thunbs up for HM

I have the PCIII version and I find it works awesomely, don't know exactly how it compares with the bike specific kit but it seems to do everything it's supposed to do.

Only problem is that this thread just made me realise that I still need the PCIII if I tune ecu my bike, I'd forgotten about the quick shifter

TJ, is the Quickshifter not just a standard peice of kit that they (HM) add a loom to? Could you not just purchse the loom that fits onto the spark plug caps? HM are always very helpful so it may be worth an email/dropping in to chat to them (i no your not far from them).

I have the HM quick shifter, the stand alone system & its the mutts nuts

Another point to make in the stand alone HM's systems favour is that it cuts the ignition spark, not the fuel.

The Power Commander version cuts the fuel, this can cause errors in the ECU. Cutting the ignition spark, as opposed to the fuel, is thought to be kinder on the engine and create a cleaner ignition cut, therefore its easier on gearbox components as there's no chance whatsoever of a power cycle.

I've just changed over from the Power Commander version to the stand alone Plus one, and its noticeably better. Its just that little bit smoother and i've had no false neutrals or missed gears at all so far.
