Suspensionwise the SDR is different. Different fork internals and different rear shock. Rear shock is also longer to decrease fork angle. SDR also comes with WP steering damper. To name a few.

The SDR has 12.2/1 compression ratio; the regular SD is 11.5/1. Some of the info in KTM's site is incorrect, at least on the US site regarding SDR specs. Dealers can tell you where differences are based on information in shop manuals. The pistons, rods and crank are lighter, but I don't know how the weight loss was achieved or how much weight was eliminated.

The frame is supposedly the same between the two models, but the rear shock is taller on the R, and that is why the geometry is twitchier. I don't know the specific differences in suspension because KTM doesn't make that info easily accessible. Maybe if the info regarding the differences were disseminated better there wouldn't be R's sitting on showroom floors for dirt cheap prices.
