hey peeps,

just got a new wilbers 642 shock for my SD 05 and its raised rider height so much so that i need to extend side stand by about 25mm. The manufacturer says its all good, bike will work better. I haven’t ridden the bike yet but 12mm is a very large change. Did anyone have this issue?

Cheers,
Aleks
Ouch, that is a huge amount. On an 05v that already pushes the geometry to beyond twitchy, I think you need some help in raising the front. More here will chime in about Nichol's, listen to them.

I've got the same shock and did not have this problem, the ride height is a adjustable though (if you specced this option).
Yeah 12mm is huge, funny thing is it has rider height adj but I couldn't move it. They said its been glued. ???
To add to the story the bloke I ordered it from (official importer of wilbers) passed away before the shock was delivered. He was a really nice bloke.
Anyhow I will stick with it and let you know how it rides.

Hey can someone please tell me length of the rear shock for SDR 05 I believe its 393mm. Also what about other years is it longer or same?

The after market wilbers shock that I got is 400mm, just want to gather some more info before I complain.

Cheers,
Aleks
