Will ktm update older versions?

Does anyone know if KTM would updated previous models of motorcycles with ecu updates? I mean things like the abs, traction control or mapping? As if the next year or two the abs or traction control gets new software, if you could take your older ktm in to have to software downloaded into your ecu?

When they did for the 1190 ADV (MSC ) it was a pay job, which I thought was piss poor due to it only been out for a year. KTM gives nothing for free!
Only free updates are the necessary ones or to iron out bugs.
