WP Steering Damper Broken.....

The standard WP steering damper on my SDR now longer does anything at all from fully out to fully in. Noticed it getting flighty at Crashfest.

Phoned Redline about possible warranty but that's a dead end. Also seems that they can't be serviced so it's now junk.

What are my best options for replacement? I've been quoted £290 for a new WP but I may as well buy an Ohlins for that price (assuming they'd be the best option?). Presumably, the brackets are standard as well so it's just the stroke that's important?
They can be rebuilt. All that's required is new fluid (possibly seals if they are leaking). Not sure where you'd buy seals but a Google search should sort you out.

Here is a thread on the RC8R forum detailing the process:

Wouldn't most suspension shops service these?
