Hi all, excuse me if this has been covered already.

I haven't got a SD yet but I do have an exhaust question.

Has anyone purchased just a Y-Pipe from somewhere, so they can mount mufflers that might have been originally for another bike, like a Ducati or Aprillia?

Does anyone know if there is any difference in a given manufacturers mufflers for v-twin, single or multi cyl applications, considering pressure waves, construction etc?

Anywhere that you look for exhausts there is predictably very little choice except for the obvious akras etc. And don't they rip you a new one here for them, oh my...

And buying used you could be waiting for a while.

There are some tasty looking cans from yoshimura, arrow, mivv suono etc

any ideas?

Thanks Joe, I enjoy this place a lot and hope to offer something back in return in the near future.

Joe, I actually quite like the vince's, they look very tidy on the back of yer cycle and was that price for the whole system? Damn that's cheap.

I was hoping to find something a little 'different', you know, a personal thing, so I would love to find a y-pipe to adapt something trick without paying a months mortgage on em, I might just have to get all Macgyver when the time comes.

jp needs to get his scooter first but I like to research.

You'll need to think about how you will mount the end cans to the subframe as well JP. The standard can assembly doesn't use silencer straps - it has hooks that slot into brackets on the subframe. Something will need to be sourced or fabricated in order to bolt the can straps to.
